Access Newswire (formerly Issuer Direct) is a U.S.-based leader in corporate communications and compliance solutions. Its webcasting platform powers the delivery of events such as earnings calls and investor meetings, with participation and engagement metrics made available to organizers through the Webcaster Report UI module.

Challenge

The Webcaster Report UI, the reporting module of the webcasting platform, was built on Angular 9, out of official support, with significant accumulated technical debt and over 190 active vulnerabilities in its dependencies. An incremental upgrade would have been slow, risky, and would have carried legacy patterns forward.

Use Case

DBServices rebuilt the application from the ground up on the latest Angular version, using standalone components, signals, and zoneless change detection. The presentation layer was reorganized by feature, with data visualization powered by Plotly.js, while preserving full functional parity.

Achievements

Complete elimination of the 190+ identified vulnerabilities, with dependencies updated to secure versions. A lighter, faster, and easier-to-maintain application, with automated testing, Docker/Kubernetes deployment, and continuous dependency updates to prevent the issue from recurring.
