Galp is a Portuguese energy group. It owns Petrogal and Gas de Portugal, with activities ranging from oil and natural gas exploration and production to fuel refining, distribution and sales, and power generation. It is one of the largest Portuguese companies, controlling about 50% of the fuel trade and the entire refining capacity of the country.
Challenge
Proof of Concept to validate hypotheses on a new technology architecture and a new development approach for Galp systems, using a low-code tool that would serve as the basis for designing a functional prototype of a strategic digital product.
Solution
MVP built using agile techniques, methodologies and practices: Design Thinking, Lean Kanban, BDD and Gherkin, 3C, Invest and SMART, among others. Cloud resources and CI/CD, including infrastructure as code (IaC).
Result
The target application build exceeded expectations in the proposed features and architecture, as well as in the experience delivered and the agility of the process. Compliance with good development practices ensured that strategic objectives and organizational constraints were met for each type of user, reducing SDLC and waste.
