CMPC is a multinational pulp and paper company with over 100 years of history and a strong international presence, ranking among the leading forestry-based products companies in Latin America. Challenge

Manual testing of the Order-to-Cash (O2C) flow was frequently interrupted because material stock ran out or was tied to specific customers, preventing the “free-for-use” status needed to create functional sales orders.

Use Case

The main objective was to create a test automation PoC for the Sales and Distribution (SD) flow, covering Order creation (VA01), Order revision (VA02), and Delivery (VL01N), along with an initial validation to confirm free-for-use inventory availability.

Achievements

Running the flow manually, from material verification to delivery creation, takes about 20 minutes; automated, each test takes around 2 minutes. In a typical UAT scenario, where the delivery-creation flow runs more than 20 times on average, this cuts total time from roughly 400 minutes (about 6.6 hours) to under 1 hour.
