DBServices Portugal closes partnership with Karimu Foundation.
DBServices Portugal is delighted to announce a partnership with the Karimu Foundation, which supports underprivileged communities in Africa.
Lisbon, May 2, 2024.
DBServices Portugal recently signed a partnership agreement to donate a percentage of its turnover from selected projects to the Karimu Foundation.
The Karimu Foundation envisions a world without poverty and operates mainly in the Babati district, in the Manyara region of Tanzania. Its mission is to strengthen partnerships with rural communities to build pathways for these communities to develop independently and promote local sustainability. Karimu’s integrated approach involves listening and developing relationships and patiently investing in a variety of key challenges and projects defined together with local leaders. Three-time award-winning volunteer Peggy Seltz’s film “Until We Meet Again: Building a School in Tanzania” details Karimu’s early days.
Eduardo Lins Henrique, CMO of the Karimu Foundation, emphasizes “…we are very excited about the new donor profile, which is more corporate. We hope to be able to give greater sustainability and support to our initiatives and projects. Each new donation can mean a new bathroom or even a new classroom in a community school…”.
Mário Bastos, CEO of DBServices Portugal, underlines his satisfaction and the importance of being able to help in this initiative, “… the Karimu Foundation project makes a difference in the lives of people and poor communities in Tanzania. When a girl can go back to school and no longer has to walk for miles to fetch water for her family, because there are fountains less than 500 meters from her house, we realize how the creation of basic infrastructure can transform lives!”
