QonfX is an exclusive leadership-focused conference created by The Test Tribe to bring together some of the leading minds in Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Business around a shared purpose: discussing the present and future of software development. Much more than a traditional event, QonfX was designed to foster in-depth conversations about quality, artificial intelligence, leadership, and innovation, connecting professionals who are actively experiencing, adapting to, and redefining the direction of the industry.
On May 9, 2026, the city of Porto, Portugal, hosted one of these special editions at Porto Business School, bringing together more than 150 professionals from some of the country’s leading technology companies for over six hours of content, networking, and knowledge exchange. The agenda featured eight experts on stage, six in-depth talks, and a panel discussion covering key topics such as AI in Testing, Quality in AI, Shipping Faster, as well as security and governance in artificial intelligence.
DBServices Portugal took part as a Gold Sponsor alongside Parasoft, reinforcing its strategic position in discussions about the future of software quality and intelligent automation. Mario Rodrigues Bastos (CEO), Douglas Nunes de Mello (CTO), and Tiago Paixão represented DBServices, actively participating in a highly qualified environment focused on decisions that will directly shape the next decade of software engineering.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the event was the way it broke away from the traditional one-way conference model. Instead of distant presentations and ready-made answers, QonfX encouraged real conversations: questions coming directly from the audience, spontaneous sharing of experiences, and open discussions between speakers and participants. The stage stopped being an isolated space and became an extension of the technical community itself.
Among the major topics discussed, Artificial Intelligence naturally took center stage—and one perception became almost unanimous: AI no longer belongs to the future; it is already part of the present. Its impact is visible not only in test automation, but also in the way organizations approach quality, productivity, efficiency, and decision-making.
At the same time, the event reinforced an important reflection: tools evolve rapidly, but critical thinking remains irreplaceable. The concept of human-in-the-loop emerged as one of the most relevant ideas of the event—the understanding that AI should support decisions, but always with human judgment, context, and responsibility at the center.
The event concluded with exactly that feeling: that we are living through an inevitable transformation—and that actively participating in building it is a collective responsibility. For DBServices Portugal and for all the professionals present, QonfX Porto 2026 was not just a conference, but a legitimate space for reflection on how to build the future of technology with greater intelligence and greater humanity.
